Can I see a full gallery from a recent session?Seeing a full gallery ensures you can trust their consistency and attention to detail. At Ash & Thistle, we have multiple releases and full galleries available for you to view on our blog. Transparency and quality are our top priorities.
What’s included in your packages?Make sure to ask about session length, outfit changes, props, prints, albums, and bonus options like specialty locations. Our pricing at Ash & Thistle Artistry is simple: the session fee covers your experience, and packages cover your images and prints. Depending on the specialty (newborn, boudoir, fine art), we adapt to meet the unique needs of each type of session.
What’s your booking process and payment schedule?Understanding how to book and manage payments helps ensure a smooth experience. At Ash & Thistle, you can book your session online through our booking portal, where you’ll choose your bonus sets, packages, and session preferences. Payment plans are available, and packages must be paid in full 4 days prior to the session. On session day, you’ll view and order your images, receiving your digital files the same evening. Plus, every booking includes a wardrobe fitting appointment where you can tour the studio, preview outfits, and see bonus set options.
What’s your policy on rescheduling or cancellations?Life happens, and it’s good to know your photographer’s flexibility. We allow one free reschedule if communicated at least 1 week in advance. A second reschedule is subject to a $100 fee to secure a new date.
How do you help clients feel comfortable during the session?A good photographer creates a safe and relaxing environment. At Ash & Thistle, our wardrobe fittings give clients a chance to connect with us beforehand and get comfortable. Most clients arrive a bit nervous but feel at ease by the time they’re in hair and makeup. Our active Facebook community is also a great way for clients to get to know us before their session.
What editing or retouching is included?Understand how much editing is done and whether additional edits cost extra. At Ash & Thistle, we hand-edit every image for perfection—no presets here! We focus on bold, vibrant tones while staying true to real-life colors. Temporary marks like pimples or veins are removed, but we never alter body shapes. Our goal is to help you embrace and love your true self.
What should I bring or prepare for the session?Preparation can make your session even better! All you really need to bring is one outfit you absolutely love and some basic undergarments to pair with our client closet, which includes over 400 pieces. Anything else you bring is a bonus!
What’s your timeline for delivering photos?Knowing how long it takes to receive your photos helps set expectations. At Ash & Thistle, we deliver your digital images the same evening as your session! After your shoot, you’ll take a quick break to grab a bite while we prepare your gallery. You’ll return to view your images, make your selections, and we’ll handle the editing that day. Printed products are ready within 8–15 days for pickup.
