The First 20 Minutes of Her Session

One of the questions I get asked the most is:

“What actually happens during a session?”

Not the polished highlight reel.
Not the final gallery.

But the real beginning, the part where someone is still a little nervous, figuring out how to move, and starting to trust the process.

So today I’m sharing something special with you.

Below is the first 20 minutes of her session, exactly as it unfolded.

No skipping ahead.
No highlight edits.

Just the real rhythm of how a session begins.

What You’ll Notice

During these first minutes, a few important things are happening.

The posing is very simple.
The direction is gentle and constant.
And the goal is not perfection, it’s comfort.

Most people assume the magic happens later in a shoot.

But honestly?

Some of the most beautiful moments happen right at the beginning.

Within the first few minutes, we had already captured 25 strong images in her first pose alone.

And that moment when she saw the back of the camera?

That’s always my favorite part.

It’s the shift.

The moment someone realizes:

"Oh… maybe I actually can do this."

This is the real pacing of a session
how I guide movement, adjust details, and help someone settle into their body in front of the camera.

Her Selected Images

After her full session, these were some of the images she chose from her gallery.

What I love about these is how quickly her confidence started showing up.

You can literally see the progression from those first few minutes into images that feel powerful, relaxed, and completely her.

If there’s something you’re curious about, posing, lighting, wardrobe, or the session flow, leave a comment below and I’d love to talk about it in a future post.
