Whether you’ve never done a shoot before or you’re returning for another round of self-celebration, this experience meets you exactly where you are.
We work inside curated studio sets with controlled lighting, soft direction, and a calm, grounded pace so nothing ever feels rushed or overwhelming.
This space is built for all bodies, all sizes, and all levels of confidence.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to “be photogenic.”
You just need to show up.

Ash & Thistle regularly photographs plus-size women, women with scars, disabilities, chronic illness, mobility limitations, body image struggles, and women navigating major life transitions.

I’m based in Toledo, Ohio, but clients travel from all over to see me!

The Session Planning Apt: A few months before your session, you’ll come to the studio for a wardrobe + planning consult.
This is where I take the nerves out of the equation and plan every little detail.
We’ll pick outfits, bonuses, and basically set you up for a session that’s all about you.
A virtual option is available.

That’s totally your choice.
You can sign a release if you want me to share your final images or behind-the-scenes shots.
I actually give bonus digital files to clients who do, so it’s a little extra treat for letting the world see your magic.

Yes! Couples sessions are a thing, and I don’t charge extra. I just need to know ahead of time so I can prep the studio and make sure both of you are comfortable.
The flow is a little different than solo sessions, but the goal is the same: confidence, connection, and gorgeous images.

Absolutely! Men are welcome. Sessions are customized to help you feel confident, comfortable, and look amazing, just like everyone else who steps into the studio.

We’ll plan outfits at your consult, but bring anything you feel good in, lingerie, jeans, suits, your favorite tee, nothing at all… anything that makes you feel confident.
Comfort and confidence are the only rules.

Almost everyone does. It’s totally normal. Sessions are designed to be guided, supportive, and paced so you can ease into it naturally.

Sessions usually run 1–3 hours depending on outfits and setup.
You’ll leave with a digital gallery of your images, plus any bonuses you’ve earned during booking. Photoshoots take place on wed, thurs, and fridays

Yep! Once you reserve your date, you have 40 days to start your pre-payment plan, and up until 4 days before your session to finish it. You can also use extended plans through Affirm, Klarna, or Afterpay.

No. My collections include the experience itself and your digital images. Albums, wall art, and other printed products are available separately.
Some clients know they want printed artwork, while others prefer to decide after seeing their images. Rather than requiring everyone to purchase products, I've made them completely optional.
You're welcome to add printed products during your payment plan or purchase them after your session. While you can print your images anywhere, I recommend ordering through me to ensure the colors and quality match the artwork as it was intended to be seen.
