Model Release Demystified

Let’s talk paperwork but make it sexy.

Okay, maybe not sexy, but definitely empowering. Because I get it model releases can feel intimidating.

What exactly are you signing? Are your photos going to end up on billboards in Times Square?

(Short answer: not unless we talk about it first.)

A model release is simply a legal form that gives me permission to use your images in my portfolio, social media, website, etc. It’s about consent. And guess what? You’re in control the whole time.

Prefer to keep everything private? Absolutely. Want to go full goddess and shout your photos from the digital rooftops? Let’s gooo.

Ash & Thistle is a judgment-free, pressure-free, consent-first zone. We will never share anything you don’t enthusiastically approve. Your comfort and boundaries aren’t just respected here, they’re prioritized.

So if you’re signing a release, it means we’ve already had a conversation about what’s being shared and why. It’s not a trap and you will sign a second release to confirm sharing.

Consent is sexy. And so is knowing your rights.
