PORTRAITS THAT FEEL LIKE YOU.
Family, newborn, senior & milestone photography in Toledo, Ohio.
You don't need to know how to pose.
You don't need to know what to do with your hands.
Your kids don't need to behave perfectly.
And you absolutely do not need to show up looking like everyone else on Pinterest.
You just need to show up.
I'll guide you through the rest.
THESE AREN'T JUST PICTURES.
They're photographs of your people, as they are right now.
The kid who has changed six inches since last year.
The teenager who is suddenly almost grown.
The newborn whose face is going to look completely different in a few weeks.
The family that somehow keeps getting bigger.
The grandmother everyone wants in the photograph.
The mom who is always the one taking the pictures.
You deserve to be in them, too.
My portrait sessions are designed around your family, your personality and the things you actually want to remember.
Not a formula.
Not a list of poses.
Not everybody standing in a row and smiling at the camera.
I WANT YOU TO LOOK LIKE YOURSELF.
That sounds obvious.
But somewhere along the way, family photography became a lot of matching outfits, forced smiles and everybody trying to behave perfectly for ninety minutes.
I'm not interested in that.
I want movement.
Connection.
Personality.
The little interactions that happen when nobody is being told to smile.
I want photographs where you look at them later and remember what that moment felt like.
And yes, I'll still make sure we get the photograph where everyone is looking at the camera.
Because Grandma deserves that one.
OUTDOOR PORTRAITS ARE MY FAVORITE.
I love using the environment as part of the photograph.
Trees.
Fields.
Architecture.
Water.
Open spaces.
Your favorite places.
The changing seasons.
The light.
The movement.
Outdoor sessions give us room to actually do something instead of simply standing in front of a backdrop.
Depending on your session, we can build a location around your family, the season and the kind of photographs you want.
And if an indoor or studio setting makes more sense for what you're planning, we'll talk about that too.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO MATCH.
Actually, please don't.
You don't need five people wearing the same color.
You don't need white shirts and jeans.
You don't need everyone dressed like they bought their clothes from the same rack.
You need a color story.
Maybe Mom has a patterned dress with burgundy, rust and cream.
Dad pulls the cream into a textured sweater.
One child wears burgundy.
Another wears rust.
Someone else brings in a little olive.
Now everybody coordinates without looking identical.
Patterns work.
Texture works.
Layers work.
And most importantly:
You should actually like what you're wearing.
Before your session, we'll talk through your wardrobe so you're not standing in your closet the night before thinking:
“What the fuck are we all wearing?”
Choose 2 main colors and one extra for color coordinated looks
Portrait Sessions
-
Your family does not need to be perfectly behaved to deserve beautiful photographs.
Bring the chaos.
Bring the personalities.
Bring the kid who won't sit still.
Bring the teenager who thinks pictures are stupid.
Bring the dad who insists he hates having his picture taken.
I'll guide everyone through it.
We'll photograph the whole family, smaller combinations, individual portraits and the interactions that make your family yours.
The goal isn't to make you look like someone else's family.
It's to photograph yours beautifully.

Newborn photography is about slowing down long enough to remember just how damn small they were.
Traditional newborn posing is best suited to babies approximately 4–20 days old.
If your baby is older, that's okay.
I'll still photograph them.
We'll simply plan the session around their age, development, temperament and what is safe and appropriate for them rather than forcing them into a newborn pose they aren't ready for.
And if siblings are coming?
We photograph those family and sibling combinations first.
Then Dad, Grandma or another responsible adult takes the older children with them so I can focus on calming and photographing the baby.
That's intentional.
It's how I give the baby the attention they need without trying to photograph a newborn while simultaneously managing a house full of kids.
-
Your senior pictures should look like you.
Not the same three poses everyone else is doing.
Not an outfit you hate because someone told you it photographs well.
Not a personality you don't have.
Bring the clothes you love.
Bring your interests.
Bring the weird stuff.
Bring the thing you're obsessed with.
And bring the outfit you've been waiting for an excuse to wear.
We'll build a session around who you are right now.
I recommend planning several different looks so your gallery has variety without feeling like three completely different people.

Some things only happen once.
Some happen every year.
Some don't seem important until years later when you realize how much has changed.
Birthdays.
Graduations.
Anniversaries.
Generational portraits.
First birthdays.
Big transitions.
Small victories.
If it matters to you, it deserves to be photographed.

The sooner you know you want photographs, the better, especially if you're looking for a particular season or date.
Most Clients Book 3-9 months in advance to take advantage of our prepayment plans.
YOU'RE ONLY THIS AGE ONCE.
Your family is only this version of your family once.
Your senior is only a senior once.
That newborn face won't stay that tiny.
And eventually, you're going to wish you had more photographs of the people you loved when they were exactly who they are today.
So stop waiting for everybody to be thinner.
For the kids to behave better.
For the house to be cleaner.
For the “perfect” time.
There is no perfect time.
There is just right now.
You don't have to know how to pose.
You just have to show up. I'll handle the rest.
