You Don’t Have to Know How to Be Sexy

Boudoir photography in Toledo, Ohio for women who think they’re awkward, unphotogenic, or “just not sexy.”

There’s something I hear all the damn time before a boudoir session:

“I’m going to be so awkward.”

“I have no idea how to pose.”

“I’m not sexy.”

“I don’t know what to do with my body.”

And honestly?

Good.

Because you don't need to walk into my studio already knowing how to be sexy.

That's my job.

You don't have to know what to do with your body

Look at these images.

There's movement. There's softness. There's tension. There's curves. There's skin. There's a woman taking up space.

But here's the thing you don't see:

The part where she had to figure all of that out herself.

She didn't.

I guided her.

That's what happens during a session with me.

I don't put you in front of a camera and say, “Okay, be sexy.”

Because what the hell does that even mean?

Instead, I'll tell you where to put your hand.

I'll move you into a position.

I'll show you what I'm looking for.

I'll adjust an arm, a leg, your chin, your hips.

I'll tell you when to move.

I'll tell you when to hold still.

And I'll keep talking to you the entire time.

You don't have to perform.

You just have to follow directions.

Your body isn't the problem

A lot of women come into boudoir believing their bodies are the reason photographs haven't looked the way they wanted before.

Maybe your stomach is softer than it used to be.

Maybe you have stretch marks.

Maybe your thighs touch.

Maybe you have a belly that hangs differently when you sit than when you stand.

Maybe your arms aren't your favorite thing.

Maybe you don't have the tiny waist you've spent your entire life being told you're supposed to have.

None of that disqualifies you from beautiful photographs.

And I don't believe your body needs to be hidden, edited into something unrecognizable, or strategically positioned so it looks like somebody else's.

I want you to recognize yourself.

The goal isn't to make you look like a different woman.

It's to make you look at the photographs and think:

“Holy shit. That's me?”

This is why posing matters

Boudoir photography isn't just about pretty lingerie and good lighting.

It's about knowing how a body moves.

It's about understanding angles, hands, posture, expression, light, negative space, and how all of those things work together.

And it's about knowing when a pose needs to change.

Because sometimes the difference between “I hate this” and “OH MY GOD” is literally two inches of movement.

A different angle.

A shoulder turned slightly.

A hand moved from one place to another.

A chin lifted.

A breath.

That's why you're not expected to walk into my Toledo studio knowing how to pose.

I've got you.

And yes, you can show up nervous as hell.

You can arrive with a messy bun.

You can have absolutely no idea what you're doing.

You can be nervous about being naked in front of a stranger.

You can worry that your face looks weird in photographs.

You can wonder if you're going to find even five images you like.

You can be convinced boudoir works for other women but definitely won't work for you.

I've heard it all.

And then we make the photographs.

And eventually, you're sitting in my studio looking through your images and realizing that the woman you've been criticizing in the mirror for years...

was never the problem.

You just needed someone who knew how to see her.

You don't need to become someone else for your boudoir session.

You don't need to lose weight first.

You don't need to learn how to pose from TikTok.

You don't need a Pinterest board full of sexy poses.

You don't need to know how to smolder at a camera.

You don't even need to know what the hell you're doing.

Come as you are.

I'll take care of the rest.

Hair and makeup are provided with your collection.
Wardrobe is available in sizes XXS–6XL.
Posing and expression coaching are completely guided.
And we'll create the photographs together, not throw you in front of a camera and hope for the best.

Because your session isn't about proving that you're sexy enough.

It's about finally seeing yourself the way someone else has been trying to show you.

And honestly?

That's my favorite part.
